H.P. Lovecraft’s “Herbert West–Reanimator” is set for a feature redo. Haunting in Connecticut writers Adam Simon (Salem) and Tim Metcalfe are hatching a contemporary reimagining of Lovecraft’s legendary short story. Alton, IL based production and finance shingle Woodlake Entertainment is fully financing the project. Six time Emmy Nominee Jeffrey Lewis and Keith Previte will produce for Woodlake.

Lovecraft’s short story centers on the brilliant but mercurial physician West, who’s rabid obsession and pursuit of life extension succeeds - to horrifying effect. Woodlake Entertainment principals John Simmons and Roger Lewis will Executive Produce with Andrew Trapani (Winchester). Simon, Metcalfe and Trapani previously collaborated on the Lionsgate hit The Haunting in Connecticut which grossed nearly 100M worldwide.

H.P Lovecraft reinvented the horror and science fiction genres with his unique style of cosmic terror and frightening tales.

With an emphasis on relaunching horror classics with a contemporary eye, Reanimator will be the first in series of elevated genre pics to be developed and financed by Woodlake.
